Tai Chi & Qigong Tai Chi is a relatively modern martial art based on longevity practices passed down for thousands of years from the legendary Wudang Mountains. Often described as a moving meditation, it’s reputation has spread widely as a gentle way of promoting relaxation, balance, flexibility and aiding the body in it’s own healing processes. Qigong can be used for Martial, Medical or Mystical practices, some form of which is trained in every style of Chinese Kung Fu or can be practiced as an art unto itself. Class requirements: comfortable clothes you can move in, shoes or barefoot and a playful mind Eddy Lao Shi Eddy Lao Shi started his journey at the turn of the millennium in Nelson BC under the tutelage of Sifu Eric Eastman. For several years he learned from everyone who had something to share related to Martial Arts, Chinese Medicine and Daoist Practices. In 2006 he bought a one way ticket to China and returned to Canada three years later with a new style of Tai Chi and a completely new understanding of the internal arts. He has taught 5 year olds up to the current record holder of a spritely 98 years old and he loves doing it. He is a firm believer that these practices can enhance literally every aspect of your life in frequently surprising ways and very much looks forward to teaching his two year old daughter to be his teaching assistant in a few years time.
